Prayer for April 6, 2023

Every year, when we come to this day of Maundy Thursday, I am struck by the emotions I feel, O God. We have this sense of impending dread and yet also celebrate the beginning of the tradition of the Eucharist. We watch as Christ calls us to service and to be willing to work that seems below what we might think we or others deserve. Help us to understand who you have called us to become and to live fully into what this day means for us. All this we ask in your Name, O God. Amen
