Prayer for May 28, 2023

We celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit today, O God. As we celebrate this day, may we remember that first Pentecost and remember that many people of various languages and cultures understood one another. They were so overwhelmed with your Spirit, that love overcame all barriers to community with one another. May we seek to regain as much of the Spirit that was there on that day and focus on the unity that comes when we simply live in the love that you have shown us. Help us to remember the times when we have felt loved unconditionally and seek to share that with those we encounter. May we step out if faith and share the many gifts we have been given to the world around us. We are empowered, now help us to do the work you have given us to do guide and encouraged by the Holy Spirit. All this we ask in the name of the God who creates, redeems and sanctifies. Amen
