Prayer for May 30, 2023

Help us, O God, to cherish the diversity of the world around us. You created a world that is full of so many examples of beautiful things that are varied from seasons, the animals that inhabit the earth to they myriad colors of the plants we see. May we recognize that humanity is that same way. Let us celebrate our differences rather than trying to force people to one culture and one version of history. Give us the passion for getting to know those who have different experiences, histories and viewpoints than ours. You call us, O God, to not judge lest we be judged and to instead to love those whom we don’t understand or even think of as enemies. May we not give power to those who would divide us, or separate us from our fellow human beings. Let love overcome estrangement. Amen
