Prayer for June 2, 2023

Help us, Loving God, to follow your example of humble service. May we look to the people in our lives and those we encounter who are gifted in putting others ahead of themselves and attempt to emulate them. We can learn so much from watching the people in the service industry, especially those who we often find in what we consider the most menial of occupations. So often, O God, they are the most joyous. Help us to see how much more important it is to care for one another than it is to win whatever selfish game we have decided is some temporary victory we must attain. Instead, let us see the greater victory that love, compassion and empathy toward others provides. All this we ask in your most Holy Name. Amen.
