Prayer for July 9, 2023

May we be willing to set down our burdens, Loving God. You call us to let go of the heavy weights we are carrying and let them fall away so that we can run the race that is set before us. You invite us to carry a different kind of yoke that will not weigh us down but instead empower us. Help us to recognize the gift of rest that comes from us no longer allowing the heavy millstone of anxiety, fear, regret and all the other hardships we hold onto for longer than we should. May we be strengthened by the gift that God has given us in redeeming us and making us whole again. May we relish in the wonder that comes from the freedom to see the world in a new and glorious way and step out in faith. It is in thanksgiving for all you continue to provide, we pray. Amen
