Prayer for August 6, 2023

We imagine, O God of All Creation, what it would be like to meet the heroes of our history because of what they have done somehow encourages us to what we might accomplish. Help us to see our own opportunities to become what they were for generations to come. May your spirit full us in such a way that others see you in how we live our lives and how we appear to those we encounter. May we build houses that honor you more by our service in the moment than by letting the past inhibit us from doing our part now now that it is our time. Empower us to let your light shine in us and make others become transformed by what you have done for us. All this we ask in the name of the God who wants us to know fully what it is to believe, serve and love. Amen.
