Prayer for September 3, 2023

May our love for one another be so apparent to those around us that they find hope for a world that is filled with challenges. May our desire to live into the person you are calling us to become strengthen us when the desire to be selfish tempts us. Help us to be humble, self-aware and compassionate. When we face what we may perceive as evil may we respond with love and empathy. Help us to not let fear and anxiety determine our actions and to recognize those emotions in dealing with those with whom we interact. May we see the value of harmony over dissonance in our community. May your Holy Spirit guide us when we face those times when we have to find the best path among rough or challenging pathways. All this we ask in your name, O God. Amen
