Prayer for September 24, 2023

We never know, Loving God, what blessings or challenges we may face. We also struggle when we compare ourselves to others or what we perceive to be fair. It is easy to be jealous of others who seem to be receiving blessings or more than we think they deserve. Help us to focus on our own blessings and not be worried about what others receive. May we remember that we often don’t know the burdens that others are silently carrying. Let us expend our energies on being grateful for what we have and celebrating the blessings others receive, knowing that we are blessed more than we can ask or imagine. May we celebrate when people who thought they would receive nothing find themselves with what they need. Let your blessings flow upon us all. Amen
