On this Holy Night, may we remember the way our Savior, Jesus Christ entered our world and journeyed with us. His birth allows us to reimagine what is important in our world and in our lives. From the beginning he did not do what was expected of the coming Messiah. Instead of a birth with fanfare surrounded by royalty, it was in a humble manger that we meet the Christ child. As he grew he continued to be counter of what the world wanted and expected. He was truly not the king we imagined and instead provided for us a humble servant as our image of what it is to truly wield power as his children. As we celebrate this Nativity, may we cherish the many gifts that have far greater value than material items and share our love, faith and joy with one another. In the name of the God who created, redeemed and sanctified. Amen
