Ever present God, help me this and everyday when I am challenged by the decisions of society around me to speak out when I disagree with the many things that are against your call to love you, one another, and our neighbors. May I bridge the divide between my own personal feelings about the political issues that may be angering me and the truly inhuman and horrible things that political leaders are doing to the people most vulnerable and speak out as I can, as a person who has privilege. Too many of our world leaders are acting so far away from what you have called us to act, and think that somehow they are acting in your name. Please help us to not only call them out, but force a change in their actions by our activism. Let us be clear in our confidence that you call us to a much better place than those who fake faith and act as if they are people of faith. We have let wealth and seeming success be treated as if they were faithful to you O God. Help us to recognize the difference between financial success and following your call. Amen
