Prayer for August 16, 2025

There are times, O God, when following you means we are going on a separate path from people we care for.  You describe a time when even the closest of our relations will be divided by our following you.  Help us to know when those times happen and be aware of when our decisions are going against your Gospel. In other scripture we are called to be the body of Christ.  May we recognize that accepting our own brokenness and our need for one another helps us to build the puzzle that becomes your body.  Let love for you and one another pervade our thoughts and actions. And may your blessings fill us now and always.  Amen
