Today is the Feast day of Bishop Paul Jones who helped found what became the Episcopal Peace Fellowship.
O Lord our God, may we empower those who seek peace. Help us to support those people who are against the idea that somehow combat is a godly pursuit. May we work toward a world that seeks fellowship with our neighbor over the idea that the stranger in our midst must be our enemy. Let us work toward a world that resolves its disagreements by conversation rather than taking lives. May peace be our goal. Amen
