Prayer for September 11, 2025

On this 24^th anniversary of 911 we wake up to stories of death by violence from yesterday.  We had two students in Colorado, and a political activist killed by gun violence and I am tired, O God.  Exhausted by the reality that we put our desire to have weapons that kill over the lives of the innocent.  Tired of the people who are unwilling to put as many protections available to us to stop gun violence.  Help us to turn swords into plowshares and see the true damage that our fascination with guns provides.  Let us find ways to prevent the violence that seems to pervade our society.  One death is too many.  Guide us into a better place O God. Amen
