Today’s Gospel tells the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus.
Help us, loving God, to recognize the beggar at the gates of our lives and to respond to their needs. May we increase our attention toward those things that we can do with our abundance in helping those in need. May we support those things that help the homeless, poor and needy. Let us also look to ways that we can help those who are homeless due to mental illness and work toward finding treatment and safe places for them to live. When we look back on our lives may we be proud of our compassion and empathy. All this we ask in your name. Amen
