Prayer for December 14, 2025

As of today, there have been 389 mass shootings in America this year and last night two young people were killed and nine others were injured in a mass shooting at a university.  Help us, O God, to get over our inability to take action to prevent these shootings and to make it harder for people to have weapons.  May we do more than think and pray.  Let us support the mental health improvements that are needed in preventing these acts.  We need to be clear that the status quo regarding gun safety is inadequate.  Let us look to protecting those around us.  All this we ask in the name of a God who creates, redeems and sanctifies.  Amen
