Prayer for January 14, 2026

I know that I am struggling to know when to speak out against the things that I believe are wrong in our world, O God. My Midwest manners and etiquette tell me to not respond and expect that cooler or better minds will prevail.  The reality is that we cannot just rely on our thoughts, prayers and hope that things will improve.  Help us, empowering God, to recognize, like Jesus did, that it may be time to tip over the tables of the money lenders and force a course direction away from the exclusionary visions of many in power and open up again a place where all are not only invited but welcomed.  Welcomed to come with their personal stories, scars and burdens to a place where together we can relieve one another of them.  Help me to be open to my part in making that happen.  Amen
