Prayer for April 12, 2026

Peace is hard work, O God.   It requires that we change our attitudes toward those with whom we disagree vehemently. Help us to step back from our preconceived notions and our own selfishness to find ways to live together and move toward love for one another.  May we look to ways that build up and support each other when our inclinations are to tear people down.  May we be honest about our own actions and decisions that have contributed to the place we find ourselves and amend our ways.  Give us the courage to trust that others want that level of peace which surpasses our own understanding.  Help us be vulnerable enough to build trust with one another.  Give us your strength and guidance as we work to become the people you would have us become.  Amen
