Prayer for June 25, 2021

O God our Creator, “we thank you for the gift of water” is very integral part of our baptismal prayer.  We are truly grateful for all it provides.  It provides both food and the essential drink that keeps us alive, and fills us with a sense of newness at so many times when we need it.  It also is something that we find solace in looking upon.  Whether it be the stillness of a lake, to the sounds of a stream, to the crashing of waves upon the shore it is something that provides us comfort.  Like much of creation there are times when its power is overwhelming.  Help us to see the strength of a simple drop of water to incredible power of storms and floods and respect the power of creation and re-creation.  May we be formed by how we experience your creation and respect and love all that it provides.  It is through your many blessings we pray.
