Prayer for August 1, 2021

O God protect us.  As we prepare for the start of a another school year during this pandemic, may we focus on what will keep our children safer.  We continue to be scared and anxious over all we are being asked to do, and many are uncertain as to what is the right thing to do.  May we be willing to make sacrifices that may be inconvenient in order to protect those who are at risk.  Let our actions be about caring for one another and love for our neighbors.  Be with those who put themselves at risk everyday to care for those who are sick, and those who are working to fight the spread of the virus.  May we quickly respond to requests that will further shield others from what we may unwittingly be carrying and look to the day when this time of challenge is behind us.  May your peace and love which passes all understanding guide us and fill us now and always.
