Prayer for November 27, 2021

Be with those who are struggling during this season, Compassionate God. While we celebrate so many things during this season regardless of our faith tradition, this time is one filled with gatherings for which there is an expectation of joy and happiness. We know that not everyone is in that place in this time. May we be empathetic to the reality that not everyone is in a celebratory mood and our mourning, anxious, depressed our simply floundering. May your spirit so fill us that we can be, to the best of our ability, the port in the storm of others lives. Give us the words we need to be there for them, give us the patience to just be fully present to them, give them a sense that we love them so much that they do not feel alone. Help them to be ready to face this challenging season knowing that you and we are with them. Give us your blessing and empower us to do great things in your name. Amen
