Loving God, there is another family who is planning a funeral for a child who was shot at his school. May we find better ways to protect our children from gun violence. May those who are struggling find help before it comes to that kind of act. Make those of us who own weapons know the importance of securing them and keeping them away from young people. May we comfort the families who are victims of these acts and work to end the killing that we truly can prevent. Help us to keep life sacred and work as hard to stop the hate from spreading.
