Prayer for June 19, 2022

As we celebrate Juneteenth (also called Jubilee Day) help us to remember that freedom from oppression and slavery is hard fought. May we work toward a world where bigotry, hatred and fear of our neighbor no longer exists. Let us lift one another up knowing that injustice often exist longer than our recognition that something is wrong and needs to be changed. Help us continue to fight battles for what is true and right, knowing that to do nothing is unacceptable. May we know that when one person is enslaved, all of us are. May we spread that love for one another to which we have been called. Amen
