Prayer for July 3, 2022

So often, O God, we make things much more complicated than they need to be. We forget that, for the most part, how we should live is pretty simple. We are called to live into two fairly clear commandments that are the foundation of all the rest of our actions. Help us to see the path of love as the way forward. Right now, especially, our world is filled with people who are attempting to steal what it is to be people who have faith in a loving God by claiming their narrow and misguided understanding of Gods will is somehow exclusive. Remind us this and everyday that when someone seeks to exclude another from the love of God they are attempting to be the judge of which none of us are qualified. Let us live in love and you have loved us and given us the opportunity to live in the forgiveness of your sacrifice. Amen
