Prayer for July 25, 2022

May we look this week to ways that we can find common ground over challenging issues, O God of all Creation. Too often we seem to find ways to divide ourselves from one another and exclude people or whole groups because we are unwilling to know them better. Help us to become better at welcoming the stranger and getting beyond our fears and prejudices so that we can see the beauty of those you have created that look different, or see the world differently than we understand our personal reality. May we, instead, recognize that there is a full palate of ways to see and live in this world that generally does not hurt us, and we may by opening ourselves to new realities see the world more fully and find it even more beautiful. Amen
