Prayer for March 8, 2023

There are several families I know, Loving God, that are mourning the loss of someone they love and preparing to celebrate their lives. Be with those families who find themselves in that liminal time between their personal Good Friday and Easter. May they feel your presence in the loneliness of knowing they will not be seeing those they love daily and struggling to imagine lives without their loved one. May they move during this time from mourning to celebration, learning that their lives would have been incomplete without that person in their lives. Let them look with joy and wonder at the Easter moment they find when they understand that they and their loved ones lives are changed, not ended. Let your Holy Spirit fill them with the confidence that they will be together once again in heaven. All this we ask in the name God, so created us in love, redeemed us with his sacrifice and guides us with his Holy Spirit. Amen.
