Prayer for April 24, 2023

On this day, what became the largest library in the world (Library of Congress) was founded, O God. May we always collect and make available the diversity of knowledge, historical understanding and thought. We gain so much by taking the time to know how others think and perceive the world. May we never lose the inquisitiveness that allows us to honor one another’s differences and commonalities. May we seek to listen to voices that are different than ours. Let us take each day as an opportunity to become better and more empathetic to those we meet. Let our passion for learning become the path for us to be more loving to the strangers in our midst. Amen
