Prayer for October 29, 2023

O God who calls us to follow you, help us to look at the examples in scripture of the imperfect people you have called to be your vessels for ministry throughout history. From the Old Testament early leaders, judges, kings and prophets to the apostles, and others who throughout time have become leaders who guided others to find their faith. As we begin this week where we celebrate the saints who have gone before us, may we rise above our own imperfections and follow your call to the ministry of our time, knowing we are building upon a foundation as old as time and that we are a very important part of what happens next and that our example may help others find you. All this we ask in the name of the God who calls us all. Amen.
