Prayer for January 1, 2024

As we begin a new year, O God, make us caring, compassionate and empathetic. May we week to be counter to a world that wants us to win at all costs and take rather than be charitable. Let us see the wonder in the eyes of those we meet, seeing the excitement that only comes when we are open to the possibilities that are in front of us. May we see the importance of of the now while looking to the future. Let us learn and not be inhibited by our past. Help us to forgive ourselves as readily as we are to forgive others. Help us to see when we are the best equipped and most available to show your love for those we encounter. All this we ask in the name of the God who called us to serve others as a mark of our faith. Amen
