Thank you, God, for the gift of sleeping in and having the ability to have it happen. I don’t sleep in much and, in fact, almost never sleep beyond 6:00. But there are times, loving God, when you allow our internal alarm clock to silently hit snooze. Thank you for those days. They remind us that we need to take care of ourselves and recognize when we are overdoing it. May we also be willing to take a Siesta during the day when we need it. Almost nothing we do is so important that we can’t wait for us to accomplish it rested. Help us to find our sabbath times. All this we ask in your Holy Name. Amen
Grant, we love your prayers!! I’ll read today’s to Michael, who needs no encouragement! He takes a nap in the am, another in the afternoon, and stays in bed while I walk the dog early morning!
Your prayers always make me pause- to smile, to weep perhaps, and to ponder!
Thanks!
