Prayer for August 28, 2025

We had, yet again, another school shooting yesterday, O God. This one literally while those children were praying.  May we finally be strong enough to change our laws to protect the innocent among us.  Help us to say that thoughts and prayers are not enough and that true change must be made.  Give us the voice to stand up against the people who would say that somehow this disease of school shootings is untreatable because it would mean we have to become responsible for the actions that an antiquated right is unchallengeable while at the same time we are stomping the constitution in so many othe ways.  Let us find our humanity and empathy in all way.  Guide us out of this valley in which we find ourselves O God. Amen
