Prayer for February 1, 2021

Ever present God, while this month is the shortest month of the year, for so many it feels like the longest and greyest month.  It seems darker and without hope.  May we see in this month the glimpses of spring this year more than others as we need the hope that that light brings.  We are dealing with the anniversary of a pandemic that we thought would be behind us by now that is truly at its most dangerous time.  We are also in a place where we struggle to find hope in those we once looked to for vision and leadership. Help us to look to those things for which we know to be true.  May we look to how we love and care for one another as the measure of our character. All this we ask in your name. Amen.
