Prayer for February 11, 2021

Forgiving God, while we know that you provide forgiveness and redemption, we often struggle with feeling fully forgiven. We want to carry the burden of guilt a little longer because we haven’t fully forgiven ourselves.  Help us to set down the weight of our sins for which we have asked forgiveness, and when the memory of them comes to haunt us, may we quickly remember that you have forgiven us.  As we ourselves have the opportunity to forgive others let us have the same gift of releasing the hurt those events caused and providing redemption to those who ask our forgiveness.  Help us to recognize the value of a fresh start and celebrate the incredible gift that you have provided.  All this we ask in your name.  Amen.
