Prayer for April 17, 2021

Thank you God for the days when we can sleep in.  It is a true gift when we have a day for which we have little required of us and we rarely use that day of rest to its fullest.  Instead we fill it with projects that make us even more tired.  May we take those rare days where nothing is due and use it to fully recharge our batteries so that we can meet future days more rested.  Allow us to relieve the stresses of the world enough to see what is truly important.  Give us the ability to escape from pressures we have put on ourselves that don’t need to have the power we have given them.  May we look back on these days of rest and be grateful for the gift they can be.  All this we ask in the name of the God who called us to take Sabbath. Amen
