On this day in 1877 the Westminster Kennel Club dog show was held for the first time.
Creator God, we thank you for the animals that have become members of our family. The pets who exhibit what it is to love unconditionally and listen without judgment are so important in our lives. We remember those who are no longer with us and celebrate the gift they were to us. May we learn how to love one another by their example. We thank you for all these animals become for us, our protectors, our service animals, our cuddle bums. May we use this day to honor all they are for us. May we care for your creation, as many of your created beings care for us. Amen.
