I wrote this prayer for our Graduating class at Mead Hall who graduate today. I have edited it to fit with any of the many graduates of 2021. They have done well to accomplish so much this year.
O Lord our God, we come before you today to celebrate the Graduating Class of 2021. They have accomplished much in their journey to this point and we are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of their formation. They have faced challenges that many have not in their final year at their schools and bore that load well, preparing them for the future in ways they will only understand later in life. They have become incredible young men and women who have amazing opportunities ahead of them. We are especially grateful for the Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, Coaches and the myriad other people who have helped them make it to this day.
As they begin the rest of their lives help them to use the many lessons they have learned to make good and wise decisions. Give them the strength of character that they have shown thus far when their lives bring them challenges. Allow them to see the many wonders that are in their future and enjoy them. May they continue to grow in faith as they become the leaders of their generation. And may God bless them now and always. All this we ask in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
