Prayer for June 9, 2021

There are days, O God, that are somewhat uneventful.  They are not marked with anything memorable other than the reality that we were not challenged by stumbling blocks or some special events that make that day important.  We need those days sometimes.  May we celebrate the days that simply happen.  Allow us to see those days as a sabbath gift.  Our world tends to have an expectation that each day has to have something special happen, or some accomplishment.  May we realize that sometimes the best thing that can happen for us in a day is that nothing special has happened and we simply got to live that day fully.  We are grateful for the days that don’t ask much of us other than to be ourselves.  May we feel your presence each and every day.  Amen
