Prayer for November 13, 2021

This time of year, O God is one of the most fun for us sports fans. We find ourselves in the middle of the football (and in my house the volleyball season) while at the beginning of basketball season. Help us to celebrate when we see games and matches that show the beauty of competition. My Grandmother, Virginia Cavagna Buchanan would take us to see both football and basketball wanting us to see some amazing athletes, but also to teach us about the value of sportsmanship. She also taught us about how fulfilling musical theater when she would take us to a special dinner and introducing us to the incredible passions that exist in sport and arts. LetMay we as we teach the next generations help young people to celebrate competition and expression of what it is to play honorably and filled with passion. All this we ask in the name of the God who helps us stand when we fall. Amen
