Prayer for December 7, 2021

O God of Peace, as we remember this day the attack on Pearl Harbor may we remember that while evil exists and people are capable of hateful acts, help us to look toward those things that unite us in love and compassion. May we keep from responding to evil with an escalation of evil, instead let us not give evil the power to enter our hearts. May we look to actions that build up rather than tear down. Let us not let anger grow when we are attacked and trust that your righteousness and the truth will win the day. Help us to let your Holy Spirit guide us this day and everyday. Amen
