Prayer for December 31, 2021

This is the last day of a challenging year, O God of all Creation. Help us to look back on this year knowing that we tried hard to care for others and look to the new year with a sense of anticipation for great things to happen. As we move into this new year, help us to continue to do those things that protect those we love. May this year transition us back to a more normal reality and COVID be a memory rather than a continuous presence. May we also find a way to regain the trust we once had for one another. Let us look back on this year that was filled with challenges and cherish the times when we found grace, compassion, fellowship and love. May we remember those times as the greatest parts of this past year. Give us your blessing as we begin a new year. Amen
