Prayer for January 1, 2022

This is a new day and a new year, O Lord. May we begin this year anew. Let us use this time to look at the world with fresh eyes. Help us to let go of the preconceived notions or expectations that have clouded our vision of the world around us. Help us to once again have the ability to suspend our disbelief long enough to find what is true and right. May we once again have a sense that those who have different opinions are not our enemy and instead have a different right answer to the deepest challenges we face. May we find a way to learn from them and forge a right answer that honors the commandments you gave us and truly love one another as you have loved us. Let us become the people you have designed us to be this year and every year. Amen
