Prayer for July 8, 2022

It seems like everyday we hear about the death of someone by gun violence. Even in the safest and most restrictive of places it can happen. May we move away from glamorizing weapons whose main purpose is to kill and direct our energies toward creating a world where children don’t have to train to be in a war zone, people are safe at parades and we don’t have to hear the announcement of an assassination. Guide us O God into valuing human life so much that we protect, feed, heal and truly love one another as you have loved us. Give us the voices and action we need to lead us out of this violent wilderness. Amen
