Prayer for August 9, 2022

May we find common ground, O God. It seems that there are so many forces that seek to divide us and increase hate as the predominant emotion. Help us to change the narrative. May those of us who are called to love one another as you loved us and to love our neighbor as ourselves live fully into that call. Help us to be the shelter in the storm and welcoming to the foreigner in our midst. It appears that this our time, and this is our place to be ready as you have called us to respond with your love to the world around us.
