Prayer for October 23, 2022

So often, Loving God who redeems us, we attempt to compare ourselves to people not knowing their journey and expecting that somehow we are more redeemable than them. Help us to refrain from judging others and to simply be grateful for all you have provided us. May we also be ready to stand up when others are judged in our midst, knowing that we ourselves only measure up when we accept your forgiveness. Let us, instead, welcome our brothers and sisters in Christ as fellow travelers and family on a journey that is calling us to revel in the new reality that you have provided us by making us all worthy of forgiveness. May the mirror we look in show us as as only complete because of you, O God. Amen
