Prayer for October 24, 2022

On this day in 1945, the United Nations Charter came into effect. It’s goal was to “save succeeding generations from the scourge of war…to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights…to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom.” May we be reminded of what that means and work once again for a world that does not have war and injustice an instead attempts greater goals like social progress and better standards. May we seek to love one another as you have loved us, O God. Amen
