Prayer for October 25, 2022

Once again we have had another school shooting, O God. May we finally decide that students lives are every bit as important as all other lives. We spend a ton of energy debating the when life begins and protecting them in the beginning of life, may we put every bit as much energy into protecting and supporting them once they have left the womb. Our inability to make changes in weapon safety and mental health care needs to be more vigorously addressed. Help us to put more priority on people’s right to live than others rights to have unhindered access to weapons whose main purpose is to take lives. May we turn swords into plowshares. Amen.
