Prayer for December 20, 2022

This time of year, O God, it is easy to focus on things over people. The desire for the next new thing can be overwhelming. Help us to be grateful for what we already have and expend energy and passion on those whom you have placed in our lives. May we care for those who are in poverty and those who are dealing with illnesses. May we support those who care for others and those who protect us. Give them the strength of your Spirit as they often put themselves in harm’s way so that our lives may be better. Protect them now and always. Amen
