We are invited into a Holy Lent, O God of All. In it, we are called to look deeply into ourselves and recognize our shortcomings. We are further called to pray in ways that are more deliberate than what we do regularly. We are commended to look to sacrificing things that we hold dear so that we might see the world, and our place in the world, differently. In this time, we are also moved to wait for literal and figurative food we expect in our daily lives so that we might let ourselves be weakened enough to let God guide us. We are challenged to look deeply into scripture to find more than we have seen before, something to guide us into a new and more complete understanding of who you are calling us to become. May we use this season to increase our faith and our ministry in your name O God. Amen
