Prayer for April, 2023

We have heard again, O God, about another mass shooting with a weapon whose main purpose is to kill. We have too many people in leadership who are not willing to do what should be done. Empower them to do the hard work that is required to make our world more safe. May we stand up and say that change needs to be made. Be with all who have been affected by gun violence, especially those for whom days like this are especially painful. Comfort the families and friends of those who have been killed. May our love for one another overcome our fear that seems to dictate our decisions regarding gun safety. May your Spirit guide us now and always. Amen.
