Prayer for May 17, 2023

We meet you, O God, in such personal and intimate places. Help us to know that you are far more reaching in how you meet all of us. May we not put limitations on how others meet you and instead be thankful for another faithful person joining us on a journey towards who you are calling us to become. Help us to put our differences aside and build upon those things that are common to who and what we are. May love, empathy and compassion be the drivers of our actions rather than the divisive and hate-filled rhetoric that seems to want to win the day. Let our love overcome anxiety, estrangement, racism and all the other forms of hate that seek to divide us. Amen.
