I forgot to post this earlier.
As I begin this day, O God, may I be aware of the world around me. One of the hardest challenges of every priest is that every Sunday we get about the time of a handshake with so many of our parishioners, and in that scant time it is easy for us to miss something that might be hiding in plain sight in that interaction. Help those who are struggling to be comfortable enough to let us know they need more, and help us to take the time to meet those needs. May both of us have the confidence to ask for help, and give it. Help us to know that all of us are trying, and while we may thing things are obvious to one or more of us, they are not always clear to everyone. Give us the grace to forgive, and give the benefit of the doubt when we might otherwise not. May we forgive as we hope to be forgiven. Amen
